Here's another shot of the river. I found children playing in the waters the weekend that I stumbled upon these water features. There are wooden seats scattered around the premises where one can go and have a quiet lunch, read, or even snooze. The pavement coils around these streams and well thought landscaping. Its like walking into a little jungle in an urban space.

The gardens with flowing streams...

The quality and design in landscape gardening has improved over the years. The inclusion of water features such as waterfall, streams and man-made ponds or lake is made possible with new architectural designs and technology. All is needed is a large space for the structures to be built into the garden.

I was at the botanical garden sometime back and was amazed at the latest feature near the visitor's centre. They have constructed mini rivers and cascading waters around the vicinity. It really breaks the monotony of the greenery with the presence of these water features. I took a few snapshots and even videoed the flow of these "rivers". The quiet and peaceful ambience is punctuated with the sounds of water flowing.
